Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach
A helicopter soaring over a well-attended coastal shoreline abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as onlookers observed.
Footage posted online show the helicopter beginning to twirl over the beach then falling in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a staircase close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Local firefighters said five people were rushed to the hospital including a pair who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were harmed. Information on their injuries were still under review.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
