Football Roundup: Denver Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos managed to secure a close victory over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Seals Game

Even with recording nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who went 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes left.

Historic Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a chance to score a potential winning score. However Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a long kick.

Fields had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. New York ended up with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," Glenn stated after the contest.
